The best medicine for passivation treatment is also an ideal product for replacing traditional chemical oxygen scavengers such as hydrazine in medium and high pressure boiler feed water.
Acetone oxime has strong reducibility and easily reacts with oxygen in the feed water to reduce the dissolved oxygen content in the feed water. The reaction formula is as follows:
2C2H7NO + O2 → 2C3H6CO + N2O + H2O
And 4(CH3)2C=N-OH + O2 → 4(CH3)2C=O → 4(CH3)2C=O + 2N2 +H2O
At the same time, acetone oxime also undergoes a passivation reaction with the metal, and the reaction formula is as follows:

Process overview
The acetone hydrazine dosing device is composed of a solution tank, a metering pump, an electric control cabinet, a liquid level gauge, a safety valve, a pulsation damper, various valves, pipes, and the like. It can be controlled manually or locally. The automatic control is realized based on the signal of the frequency converter receiving the flow rate, the oxygen content, and the turbidity meter.
Acetone oxime can reduce the iron content of the feed water, prevent the boiler from overheating and corrosion damage caused by the formation of iron oxide deposits, and at the same time clean the corrosion products of copper deposited in pipelines, economizers, etc., which leads to In the initial stage of the use of acetone, the copper content of the furnace water will increase significantly.
The decomposition products of acetone hydrazine (DMKO) are mainly nitrogen and water, and a small amount of formic acid, acetic acid and nitrogen oxides are formed. When the deoxidation effect is ensured, when the residual amount of DMKO in the feed water is 5-40 μg/L. Formic acid, acetic acid, Cl-, and SO4 were not detected in all the tested water vapor samples. Therefore, the use of acetone deuterium to remove oxygen did not have any adverse effect on the water vapor system.
Features
Automatic control system function introduction: In the automatic control state, the system automatically adjusts the metering pump speed and stroke according to the flow rate and turbidity meter signal through PLC, host computer or DCS. The metering pump flow adjustment range is 0~100%. The inverter's speed control input signal is a standard 4~2mA signal, and the feedback signal is also a 4~2mA signal. The status and fault signals of all metering pumps and agitators can be transmitted to the DCS or the host computer as needed. The DCS or the host computer can remotely start and stop the dosing pump as needed.
